1. Inspect:
1. It is a business requirement to maximise the productivity of conducting and documenting regular inspections.
2. Inspections begin with site induction briefings where people are shown the site, shown access and evacuation routes, shown the equipment they will be using, shown emergency facilities and introduced to the welfare facilities.   A checklist is mandated to ensure that each and every aspect of induction is complete and correct for each person working on site.
3. A site inspection is periodically conducted and documented by a qualified health and safety officer.   Every site is unique and so what has to be inspected will vary, but documented in a way that ensures that things are not overlooked.
4. Equipment must be inspected daily and weekly with the weekly inspection designed to comply with PUWER and LOLER requirements.   The project asset list provides details of what equipment is on site and what must be inspected.
5. Projects evolve and all kinds of inspections may be required from time-to-time, so a flexible and effective method of managing inspections is critical to the business.   Cost of inspections must be minimized. Time to document inspections must be minimized. Quality and consistancy of inspections must be maximized.

2. How does it work:
1. From the project diary, click on the inspection date and from the list of tasks to be added, select "Document" and "Inspect".   The document header is shown and comments may be added as to the purpose of the inspection and the generate state of the site.
2. Below the document header, any number of topics may exist with each topic having a subject, question, reply and result.   Automatically the date, time and author of the topic is recorded as evidence.
3. The completed report may be viewed as a report.
4. All inspection reports are shared as read-only reports with the client and client representatives.

3 Inspect Rating Scheme:
1. The original Yes-No-NA scheme did not promote excellence and continual quality improvements so it has been upgraded to reflect modern Total Quality Management.
2. ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) has evolved beyond the original HSE method of working.
3. The rating sheme standard is that proven over the past decade when used for hospitals, schools, care homes and Government agencies includes:
  (1). Not Applicable.
  (2). Unacceptable.
  (3). Requires Improvement.
  (4). Good.
  (5). Outstanding.
4. The key benefit to the company is that inspection promote excellence as projects strive for excellence with an outstanding rating.   Inspections are much more than a yes-no tick box, they are a method and process of continual improvement.
