1.6.06 Computing In The Cloud
In the cloud simply means web-based using any Internet connected computer or smart phone in any location.
As every business is unique, so every IT solution must be unique to deliver effectiveness and productivity to staff working with special skills and culture.
The scope of IT requirements of a small company are virtually the same as for a large company.
A company with 2 sales people needs to be able to measure and manage the team in a very similar way to a company with 20 sales people.
Economies of scale mean that a company with 100 or more people will be able to justify its own dedicated IT team, while a smaller company needs to find a way to become self sufficient with external support.
Computing in the cloud enables the small company to enjoy the benefits of bespoke IT business services without the need for dedicated in-house IT skilled people.

Computing in the cloud is scalable to any number of people.

IT Infrastructure
We build bespoke application services on top of our significant IT infrastructure - the invisible foundation that just delivers.
The IT infrastructure must remain invisible, secure and private, however its scope and architecture can be interogated by any IT tester.
We begin with multiple remote secure data centers in different parts of the UK, Europe and USA.   Our obsession is with continual data replication and business continuity - non-stop resilience.

We deliver integrated business services for 50% of your traditional in-house IT budget.

Application
In a world where most software has defects and needs to be patched every week, we deliver zero-defect software that does not stop.
We have continually evolved a program generator for more than 20 years using artificial intelligence to avoid defects.
A vast library of proven application facilities have been assembled over many years and these can be reused to rapidly deliver new packages.   We do one thing better than everybody else - we listen and we deliver what the customer wants.

Computing in the cloud using multiple secure data centers delivers the highest levels of business continuity.

On Demand
In the cloud based services are very easy to scale to match actual needs without the need to invest in extra in-house servers as the business grows and then having too much capacity as the market declines.
By eliminating up-front investments, in the cloud can deliver very significant cost benefits - typically a 50% cost reduction on traditional in-house servers.
Business continuity is critical to all companies and computer in the cloud using multiple secure data centers provide a far better level of availability and security than any in-house server solution.
While a small company may find that its in-house servers have been physically stolen with everything lost, this is never going to happen where multiple secure data centers are employed.

When all data is 100% complete and correct in at least three remote data centers.

IT Strategy
Your IT strategy can be any computer or smart phone in any location without any restrictions as to operating system, browser or any installed software.
You can buy a cost effective computer from Tesco, plug it in, switch it one, sign in and access all your data, emails, documents, music, photos and every service you need.
While competitors are pondering about a massive investment to replace all computers with a new operating system and expensive office suite,   you are in a position to support any and all operating systems, any and all office suites and do not need to invest in any installed software.
When computing in the cloud, your IT strategy is the most flexible and least cost of any IT strategy.

Training
A generation of people have learned to exploit Facebook, Wikipedia, eBay, Amazon and even the government HMRC web services without any formal training.
The application service does not need any special class room training - it has been proven by giving it to people with no CRM experience, but a strong desire to learn and do a job.
Policies help to minimise training, such as passwords must be strong enough to keep out hackers, data must be verified as it is entered and field values must be selected from a list whenever practical.
People always respond well to flexible face-to-face tuition, but this can be seen as motivational rather than formal training.

Your bespoke service will always be more effective than any one-size-fits-all package.
