To comply with all Data Protection directives, we no longer provide data download facilities where the person storing that data without a data protection license may become a victim of crime and/or may be fined by the ICO.

Jala Transport
The ICO fined Jala Transport Ltd £5000 in September 2013 when a laptop in a briefcase was stolen from a car that was stationary at traffic lights.   Jala Transport Ltd is a sole trader who could not afford the £70,000 fine that could have been imposed.   The laptop contained data about 250 customers and was protected with an 11 character pasword, but the data was not encrypted.   The ICO reported that they wanted to make certain that private companies are not permitted to hold customer data on a laptop that may be stolen or lost.
