4.5.16 TIES Technology:
The Information Engineering Service (TIES) is a 20 year old methodology, architecture and service to deliver bespoke applications.   TIES includes the following:
WLR web logical record specification.
WCT web (KPI) counter specification.
WPG web page specification.
WOP web option specification.
WLU web lookup specification.

UOP:
User Options (UOP) is a variation on Web Options (WOP) where UOP holds all placeholder specified labels.   Users may be granted access to refine the labels used as column headings in reports.

Logical Record:
Separation of logical and physical field assignment is a powerful method of working that maximises flexibility.   Physical records, default records, key assignment and logical record specifications fit together into a reusable procedure.

Web Counter:
Key Performance Indicators and statistical analysis demands counters and sums to be accumulated by the day, month, year, person, branch and many other ways.   Counter specifications ae easy to specify and generate as needed.

Web Lookup:
Significant fields in certain records are marked as lookup fields for use with other logical records.   for example, the client name is a significant field that may be referenced by lookup (rather than replication) in many other records.

Web Page:
Functions are generated for each function type in accordance with architectural constraints.   Continual refinement of functional and data specifications enable functions to be prototyped until they are ready for operational use.

Web Option:
Data integrity is manximised by the use of permitted values in drop down lists.   Options continually need to be refined as the application evolves with improved ways to represent the real world.
