1.2.16. Mission is Any Number Of Locations:

Customer demands for localization are continually growing, but frequently undocumented. Users demand that their own local language and terminology is professionally supported. Users demand that their own local currency is professionally supported. Users demand that they can work from any location and not only when in the office. Users are demanding the ability to sign-in when on vaction or travelling in a different country.

Application services are provided for the benefit of users and must not inhibit a user from doing their normal work in the way that best suites their local need.

Business Requirement:

The number one business requirement is for Localization where any authorized user is able to access business data in their local language, using their local currency and from any location in any country. When a person is not able to do business in one location that they can in a different location for any reason, then the number one business requirement becomes Localization.

Localization means application service support for:

* any (European right-to-left) language.

* multiple currencies with means to reconcile back to a base currency.

* time zones in any country.

* multiple branch office locations.

6. Localization:

Support is provided for most human languages in the world. UTF-8 is the HTML language encoding deployed used to match all user requirements. While some people are very good at using other languages, each company has a duty of care to ensure that staff are given the correct tools to do the job. Where a person was asked to work in a language that they were not fully conversant in, then any errors they make may be classified as due to the company not providing adequate facilities.

Companies have a duty of care to provide staff with application services that are suitable and relevant for each local language, currency and timezone.

Multiple Language Support:

All Western languages using a left-to-right latin (Windows-1252 and ISO-8859-1) alphabet are supported for normal HTML web pages.

This means a Western keyboard with A to Z, a to z and 0 to 9 with a few symbols are supported by all computers and smart phones.

Most European vowel symbols are included in ISO-8859-1, but a different alphabet such as Greek is not included.
